Hughes expects Ireland return
Manchester City midfielder Stephen Ireland will be back in starting eleven for the Citizens in the near future according to manager Mark Hughes. The 23-year-old has not started a league game since late September, having been taken ill during a Carling Cup clash with Fulham. However, Hughes Swimwear expects Ireland to force his way back into his side sooner rather than later. He commented: "We've changed the shape of the team. For the majority of the season last year we played 4-3-3, but we have changed to a 4-4-2 more often than not this year. "Nigel de Jong and Gareth Barry became a pair when Cap and hats Stephen went out of the team, did well, so Stephen has found it a little difficult to get back in. "It's not really a reflection on how he is playing because he is doing exceptionally well in training games, or whatever. "So on a daily basis he is getting back to where he knows he is comfortable with and he is a great option for us. "It's about him being patient and biding his time and he will get opportunities, he knows that. He is too good a player to keep out of the team for too long." Wigan Athletic boss Roberto Martinez has set his Handbags sights on trying to sign a new striker in the January transfer window. The Latics have scored just 12 times in 11 Premier League games this season, with Martinez well aware that he needs more firepower. He told reporters: "That is something we will have to look at and do something in the next window. "We need to strengthen as we have lost a player (Marlon King) and cannot leave ourselves open. "We know our budget, the money we have to spend. Brand Wallet But it is not just about that. "It is about finding the right players and personalities. We will work on different markets to try and make things happen." Meanwhile, Martinez has spoken up for summer recruit Jason Scotland, who has yet to find the net for the Latics. He added: "Jason has a great belief and a great arrogance in his play, certainly since we defeated Chelsea. "He may be waiting to score, but he is contributing to the team in a big way. It is a sign of a good striker when you give a lot to your team without getting goals. "His overall play is exceptional in that respect. I am delighted with him and all the players who have had to adjust to the Premier League."Jewelry
